One of the exercises the "Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin-By World" investigators complete towards the end of the workshops is to create a visual future story to accompany written future plans comparing to today. Above is one of the investigator's mental models.
She describes today as being out of control; she in the middle consumed by need in the midst of a very black and white (concrete) life. Her illustration is her struggle e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y contrasted by the vibrant mental model on the right of her future story. She is in control, in the center, and bigger than life. Her needs are in order, in sync, and most importantly, she is happy and living (x2, illustrating how much more she would be "living" if stable).
